Applications are invited from Pakistani nationals for appointment against the following positions at the Area Study Centre for Europe, University of Karachi. This is a situation vacant advertisement.

The Area Study Centre for Europe (ASCE) at the University of Karachi is a national institution dedicated to advanced research and studies focusing on European history, politics, culture, and economy. Established under a Federal Act, it aims to foster academic understanding between Pakistan and European countries. The center offers postgraduate programs including M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees, in addition to organizing seminars, conferences, and publications on contemporary European affairs.

    • Qualification: PhD
    • Experience: Minimum 15 research publications, including at least 5 publications within the last 5 years in HEC-recognised journals. OR 15 years of teaching/research experience in an HEC-recognised university or postgraduate institution, or relevant professional experience in a national or international organisation; OR 10 years post-PhD teaching/research experience in a recognised institution or relevant professional organisation.

      • Note: Tenure: Appointment shall be for a period of four (04) years, either on deputation or contract basis, with an upper age limit of 55 years.

  2. Assistant Professor (BPS-19)
    • Qualification: PhD
    • Experience: One-year contract

      • Note: Fixed salary of Rs. 80,000/- per month (No additional allowances or perks)

  6. Selected candidates shall be governed by the rules and regulations of the Centre.
  7. The Centre reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of positions, withhold appointments, or accept/reject any application without assigning any reason.

  9. Candidates must submit all documents duly signed.
