Punjab Forensic Science Agency, Home Department, Govt. of the Punjab is inviting applications for the following positions on a contract basis for three years (renewable).

Job Positions:

1. Forensic Scientist (DNA & Serology)

• Total Posts: 01 (Open Merit)
• Minimum Qualification & Experience: MS or M.Phil. (second division) in Molecular Biology or Biochemistry or Biotechnology or Forensic Science or Virology or Immunology or Microbiology or Molecular Genetics from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission; and three years relevant experience in an accredited forensic laboratory.
• OR
• MSc (Hons) (second division) in Entomology or Immunology or Biological Sciences from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission; and three years relevant experience in an accredited forensic laboratory.
• Age Limit: 28-35 years

2. Forensic Scientist (Computer Forensic)

• Total Posts: 01 (Open Merit)
• Minimum Qualification & Experience: MS or M.Phil. (second division) in Computer Science or Information Technology or Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering or Computer System Engineering from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission; and three years work experience as bench analyst in a reputable forensic laboratory.
• OR
• B.Sc. (Hons.) (second division) in Computer Science or Information Technology or Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering or Computer System Engineering from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission; and five years work experience as bench analyst in a reputable forensic laboratory.
• Age Limit: 28-35 years

3. Junior Forensic Scientist (Latent Finger Print)

• Total Posts: 01 (Open Merit)
• Minimum Qualification & Experience: MS or M.Phil. (second division) in Chemistry from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission.
• Age Limit: 23-35 years

4. Junior Forensic Scientist (Questioned Document)

• Total Posts: 01 (Open Merit)
• Minimum Qualification & Experience: MS or M.Phil. (second division) in Chemistry or Pharm-D (second division) from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission.
• Age Limit: 23-35 years

5. Junior Forensic Scientist (Crime & Death Scene Investigation)

• Total Posts: 01 (Only male candidates)
• Minimum Qualification & Experience: M.Sc. or B.Sc. (Hons.) (second division) in Chemistry or Bio-Chemistry or Physics or Biology or Forensic Science or Pharmacy or Micro Biology or Molecular Biology or Molecular Genetics or Biotechnology or Bioinformatics or Agronomy or Horticulture or Entomology or Soil Chemistry or Plant Breeding & Genetics or Food Technology or Food Nutrition or Economics from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission.
• OR
• B.Sc. (second division) in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission.
• Age Limit: 23-35 years

6. Junior Forensic Scientist (Polygraph)

• Total Posts: 02 (Open Merit)
• Minimum Qualification & Experience: MS or M.Phil. or MS (Hons.) (second division) in Clinical Psychology or Psychology or Neuropsychology from a university recognized by Higher Education Commission.
• Age Limit: 23-35 years

7. Junior Forensic Scientist (Computer Forensic)

• Total Posts: 01 (Women Quota 01)
• Minimum Qualification & Experience: MS or M.Phil. (second division) in Computer Science or Information Technology or Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering or Computer System Engineering from a university recognized by Higher Education Commission.
• OR
• B.Sc. (Hons.) (second division) in Computer Science or Information Technology or Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering or Computer System Engineering from a university recognized by Higher Education Commission.
• Age Limit: 23-35 years

8. Junior Forensic Scientist (DNA & Serology)

• Total Posts: 09 (Open Merit)
• Minimum Qualification & Experience: MS or M.Phil. (second division) in Molecular Biology or Biochemistry or Biotechnology or Forensic Science or Virology or Immunology or Microbiology or Molecular Genetics from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission.
• OR
• M.Sc. (Hons) (second division) in Entomology or Immunology or Biological Sciences from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission.
• Age Limit: 23-35 years

General Terms and Conditions:

• Only male candidates can apply for the posts of Forensic Scientist (Crime & Death Scene Investigation) & Junior Forensic Scientist (Crime & Death Scene Investigation) (Sr# 5).
• Special course work (four credit hours each) in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Population Statistics from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission are mandatory for both sets of qualifications prescribed for the post of Forensic Scientist (DNA & Serology) (Sr# 1 & 8).
• In case a candidate wishes to apply for more than one post or under different Reserved Quotas (i.e. Women/Minority/Disabled, etc.) & Open Merit, he/she shall be required to submit separate online application forms along with separate processing fees.
• The submission/uploading of all required academic transcripts and degrees is compulsory. Applications submitted without complete transcripts shall be considered incomplete and rejected without assigning any reason.
• The above positions are offered on contract basis for three years (renewable) under the Contract appointment policy 2004 of the Government of the Punjab.
• General age relaxation shall be applicable in maximum/upper age limit as per prevailing policies of Govt. of the Punjab.
• The Competent Authority reserves the right to increase, decrease OR cancel the number of posts against above mentioned each category at any stage.

• The onus/responsibility of correctness of the data given in the on-line application will rest absolutely with the applicant.

• Only short-listed candidates will be called for test/interview.
• The Experience against the applied post shall be considered as “Post Qualification Experience”. The Applicant must mention the relevant experience required for the post.
