While having a criminal history does not automatically disqualify an individual from consideration, the nature and severity of any past offenses will be carefully reviewed. Decisions regarding the impact of a criminal history on an application are made on a case-by-case basis, taking into account factors such as the type of offense, the time elapsed since the offense occurred, rehabilitation efforts, and the overall suitability of the candidate for a law enforcement role. Applicants are encouraged to be honest and forthcoming about their criminal history during the application process.
