Assistant Prosecutor (Gas Theft Prosecution)
JOB SUMMARY
The position exists for the purpose of assistance in legal proceedings and actions against the gas theft offenders. The incumbent is also required to represent SSGC at district gas utility courts. The position involves accompanying Raids, drafting of relevant statement for lodging FIR’s. Preparation of cases for recovery suits. Maintaining Court diaries and training of complainant and witnesses.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Seek guidance of departmental seniors in implementing plans to reduce gas theft through effective and swift legal actions. Implement plans to recover the estimated lost revenues while creating deterrence for possible offenders.
- Assist in preparing report of findings and observations on litigation cases for submission to the senior management. Undertake actions to impose penalties on offenders.
- Assist in preparing status of the on-going prosecution cases that have implications regarding collection of damages and expected recoveries from the offenders.
- Assist in collecting and compiling documentary evidence required for preparing legal case against offenders involved in illegal gas theft activity.
- Provide necessary support in preparing legal documentation to assist in prosecution.
- Maintain close liaison with the local police in order to provide necessary evidence for the trial and to ensure the best possible outcome for SSGC.
- Participate in meetings with representatives of SSGC police station to determine the impediments in the investigation of litigation cases and other issues. Assist in initiating corrective actions accordingly.
- Provide support in making arrangements for in-house sessions to discuss, review outcome of gas theft related court cases and identify learning opportunities for the future.
- The individual shall ensure compliance to the Enterprise Risk Management Framework enforced in the Company while performing job responsibilities in accordance with his assigned role.
- The individual shall ensure compliance to the Business Principles and Ethics Policy / Code of Conduct.
- Undertake any other task assigned by the management.
